Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a FULL TIME Emergency Room Tech to join our team.

Position Overview

• 3pm - 3am
• Full Time; 36 hours per week

In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team.

• Starting IV's
• EKG's
• Point of Care testing
• Blood Cultures
• Vital Signs
• Arrival prioritization
• Stocking

Minimum Requirements

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• High School Graduate or Equivalent

New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education:

1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR

2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates

3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy)

4. Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Unit Overview

• 33 bed unit
• Approximately 46K+ visits per year (approx. 128/day)
• Our staff are the recipients of multiple Daisy Awards, and we meet our patient flow goals for a lesser wait time.

Sentara Obici Hospital is a 175-bed community hospital. Founded in 1951 in the heart of Suffolk, Virginia. We relocated to a new state of the art facility in 2010. Our facility has been Magnet designated since 2018. We are proud of the nursing structures we have in place that empower our nurses to transform care at the bedside: our Nurse Residency Program for new grads, shared governance councils, evidence-based practice, and commitment to lifelong learning.
