Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: According to professional standards of care, performs a variety of advanced nursing / physician assistant functions. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Job Specifics
  • Excellent opportunity for a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a well-established team of specialists to serve an increasing patient base in Peoria, Illinois. This physician group has a strong affiliation with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center, the highest level designated in trauma care.
  • Primary goal is to have the Physician Assistant train with our Advanced Practice Providers and Surgeons to assist in surgery as a first assist, as well as running their own clinic, and rotating in a Call schedule supporting the surgeons on Call.
  • Primary responsibilities will be assisting in surgery, as well as conducting Ortho Patient follow ups and performing joint injections to non-surgical patients, and rotating through the Call schedule.
  • Expected schedule of 5 days a week, plus one weekend in nine supporting the surgeons on Call.
  • The current practice is averaging 26,000 annual office visits. They annually perform over 5100 billable surgical procedures.
  • The orthopedic team includes surgeons, physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses and professional clinical staff who treat a full range of orthopedic conditions. We also offer diagnostic services, ambulatory surgery, physical/occupational therapy and a sports medicine program.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
