Position Description:

The Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine seeks candidates at the Assistant, Associate or Professor levels on either the tenure track or non-tenure clinical track to join a collegial group of academic pathologists to take part in an active and expanding surgical pathology service that will be specialty focused. Our intent is to recruit multiple candidates spanning various sub-specialties, including pulmonary/thoracic pathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, genitourinary pathology, pediatric pathology, and head and neck/ENT pathology. There are opportunities for practicing more than one specialty.



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



Education Requirement:

MD or equivalent



Graduation from an accredited Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/ Clinical Pathology residency program



Fellowship training or equivalent experience/expertise in general or specialty surgical pathology

Certifications:

Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology with credentials required to obtain a medical license in the State of Iowa

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience, fellowship training, or interest in Pulmonary/Thoracic, Breast Pathology, Gynecologic Pathology, Genitourinary Pathology, Pediatric Pathology, and Head and Neck/ENT Pathology.



Excellent skills in either general or subspecialty surgical pathology



>2 years of academic experience



Demonstrated ability to excel at scholarship and teaching



Evidence of leadership potential
