Position Description: | The experimental high energy physics group at the University of Iowa is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position working on DUNE at Fermilab. The group is actively involved in construction of the Far Detector, development of the Near Detector, machine learning for DUNE reconstruction, and studies of neutrino interactions in the Near Detector. The successful applicant will make significant contributions to the Near Detector development, DUNE reconstruction algorithms and physics studies, working with Professors Jane Nachtman and Yasar Onel. Education Requirement: | The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field, completed by July 1, 2022. |
Required Qualifications: | Applicants should have a strong record of accomplishments in data analysis, and interest or experience in detector development, construction, or operation. |
Desirable Qualifications: | Research experience in collider neutrino physics, experience in using machine learning algorithms in particle physics, the willingness to work with students, and the willingness to relocate to Fermilab. |
