WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our downtown Denver office, you will process in-house payroll for approximately 4,000 employees in a manufacturing environment. This position will also act as a liaison between ADP and the Company for tax preparation for 4 separate FEINs and approximately 45 states. This position will assist the Senior Payroll Manager with monthly reconciliations and special projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for running in-house Oracle payroll process cycle in a manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all data processed and submitted for payment.

  • Responsible for staying abreast of all payroll laws and tax regulations as well as continuous improvement of process and detection and remediation of any process defects.

  • Act as a liaison with ADP for timely and accurate filing, payment, and reconciliation of all federal, state, local and unemployment payroll taxes.

  • Assist Payroll Manager with managing Oracle payroll and in-house timekeeping system, which includes patch testing, troubleshooting, and implementing new functionality. Provides support and training to all users.

  • Participate in special projects as assigned by Payroll Manager. This could include acting as project or business lead on payroll related projects. Examples of upcoming projects may include acting as payroll lead to design requirements for implementation of a new timekeeping system.

  • Ensures compliance with Mandate for Fundamental Financial Controls and existing SOX matrixes, identifies, and recommends controls changes to the Payroll Manager. Participates in and supports testing and all internal and external audit activities.

ABOUT YOU

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Certified Payroll Professional, desired but not mandatory

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll professional experience preferred

  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong payroll processing and timekeeping knowledge, manufacturing environment a plus

  • Experience with in-house payroll processing in ERP system, Oracle experience a plus

  • Strong understanding of multi state payroll tax reporting

  • General understanding of basic accounting concepts and ability to reconcile payroll accounts

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy of data

  • Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront

  • Demonstrated problem solving with an understanding of appropriate escalation points

  • Extremely organized with an ability to juggle multiple priorities and flexible to accommodate changing business needs and deadlines

  • Composure under time pressure; demonstrated reliability

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

  • Takes responsibility for personal development

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic SOX controls and auditing processes and is committed to the importance of accounting standards and controls

  • Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
